Default Just bought the book to try to make an app work

Hello,
I had no idea this is outdated. It's now late 2010. Your post to someone last year was what we might want. I want an idea as to where to begin. The second chapter seemed to leave a few details out and indeed it may not apply to facebook application development today.
None of my apps work. I have one application that I setup per the instructions of a developer who created an api for linking facebook and joomla. I have a poetry, social networking site here: http://WordSaladPoetryMagazine.com/
my app is here: http://apps.facebook.com/wordsaladmagazine/
You just see a stream of errors on that page. Can you tell me if your book is at all valid for today's facebook application development? Are any of the chapters still valid with the changes in facebook? I started reading it, highlighting things, then found that it is outdated with the changes.
Is the chapter on FBML still accurate or did they change that?
I guess what would help is a chapter 2 updated. I want to at least setup one application on facebook, and have each field setup write on the facebook application setting page and then maybe have that hello world, message application work. Again, there are fields that you mention in chapter 2, from the application settings, that I don't know how to fill in until we've created the application. Does that application rely on libraries that are not available now?
Thanks,
Bruce

I eagerly await some feedback, direction, guidance.
