Default Viewing Maid To Order

Hello,

I have deployed the 'Maid To Order' sample app successfully to my Office 365 site and can view it in the browser but I was wondering how do I open it in Access 2013 to follow the examples in the text?

Thank you.

Hi,

From the top of my head (I'm not on Office 2013 machine ATM), you should be able to select Edit with Access and it will open the database on your desktop.

If that doesn't work, please post back and we will help you get it working.

Cheers,

Doug,

Do you mean to click 'Maid To Order Sample Application.app' in windows explorer because I do not have that option.

I mean from within your O365 site.

The 'List' ribbon has an 'Open with Access' option. You should be able to open the database from there.

Ok, thanks Doug.

My 365 site has a 'Customize in Access' option which enabled me to download the file.

Default Problems editing Maid to Order

When I click on Customise in Access my Access client pops up but displays an error message: "An error occurred in the client while attempting to communicate with the server 'https://myoffice365domain
Please contact your system administrator or technical support."

Any ideas what may be causing this?

Just to verify, are you still getting this error even with multiple tries?

I've seen those messages and usually after 2nd try, they stop. I suspect the error pops up because the site is not 'warmed up' and thus Access times out before it finishes loading.

If you are still getting errors, is the web app itself functional inside the browser?

Question Professional ACCESS 2013 Programming

I have downloaded the examples (Maid To Order) from Wiley that come with the book. I have used my Office 365 account to load the app (per the Read Me text). That seemed to go well. But when I run the app, I am asked for a User ID and Password.

Can anyone tell me what they are?

Thanks.

Jeep

Ben - I am trying to run the Maid To Order app. It seemed to load OK into my Office 365 Team Site, but when I run it, I am asked for a User ID and Password. Do you know what those are or how to get them?

Thanks.

Default How I was able to view Maid To Order

I had the same problem, gBen175. I was able to get into the development mode from the active web app by clicking on the Settings wheel in the upper right corner, then choosing the "Customize in Access" option.

My first reply. Hope it helps.
