Given that the book is close to 10 years old and 5(?) ASP.NET versions old, no if there's a bit of missing code I'm really sorry but we don't have it.

Default Not surprised

After further reading and looking at the code I do have, I've come to realize that there were many changes to the code but the book was never updated to reflect the code. It makes trying to follow along very difficult.

I don't know if some of the problems I'm running into are related to VS 2012 not working quite right or if the problem is in the code. Simple things (I thought) like having the control show up in the tools list. Or seeing the control when you add it to the web page. There are a lot of little things that are there for every tool that came with VS 2012 but not for the ones we try to make on our own. I should amend that to, they could probably work but no one has written how to do that.

Anyway, thanks for the info.

Considering that the book was written versus VS2005, yes, you could run into a lot of differences with VS2012. You're a brave soul.
