I tried the silent desktop deployment of the v4 desktop manager using the XML files and I’ve made some good progress. I can now deploy the client via a Novell NAL object. However, I have two questions.

1.Can I edit the XML file after it is generated by the running “DesktopMgr.exe /r [path to save xml files]”. For example, can I edit the AutoSignature in the DefaultsRedirectorSettings.xml file with a different phone number, without re-running the “DesktopMgr.exe /r”?

2.Are there switches that can be used with the setup.exe that will execute a clean uninstall of the Desktop Manager from the PC, including removal of directories and registry entries?

Hi.

The XML files are plain ASCII files and so you can edit them without having to re-run the recorded install.

I am not sure if the setup executable has switches that can perform extra registry cleanout, but I doubt it.

 I was wondering if you can help me load desktopmgr.exe /r because i cannot get it to run. I got the silent install, but i don't have the settings all configured as default because i'm stuck on trying to run the .xml files.
