Default Target Framework

Hi all.

I am getting a little confused.

I am using VWD 2010.

If I set the Target Framework to ASP.NET 2.0 and try to build I get the following error:

The type or namespace name 'DotNetNuke' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) D:\DNN2\DesktopModules\GuestBookCS\Settings.ascx.c s 2 7 GuestbookCS

But if I set the framework to ASP.NET 3.5 it builds fine. However my DNN installation is configured as 2.0 in IIS so I'm worried there might be some conflict somewhere down the line.

Can anyone help me understand what's going on?

Kind regards.

Steve

Still haven't found a really good answer to this question although I have discovered that from IIS point of view .net 3.5 is just .net 2.0 with some extensions which simplifies the issue somewhat.

Additional info greatly appreciated.
