How is the identity populated in the Label Identity inspector? Meaning why is the identity for the name label NameLabel and not simply Label? I know how to populate the field but since it is not mention in the text, I want to make sure I did not miss a step.

How is this identity populated?

The name is in the Connection Inspector simply because the author edited the text in the .xib file, rather than have just the generic label 'Label'. It is a good idea, makes the workflow much more efficient, not having to click on something to find out where it is connected.
