Please read this entire post before responding.

Please do not respond if you do not follow the directions precisely.

We're looking for a developer with a minimum of 2 years experience developing commercial web sites in PHP and Joomla / CMS.

We're working on several cutting-edge sites that are membership-oriented and subscription-based. They incorporate audio, video, online training and a high degree of interactivity.

The primary web site we are developing is for a high-profile author/speaker/trainer.

It is currently up and running in Joomla profitably but needs a lot of improvements. (This is not a flaky or pie in the sky start up.)

Your responsibility will be to:

Manage development of membership web sites

Write new Joomla components

Interface and interact with different products

Manage shopping cart technology

Assist in debugging sites that have browser errors or do not display correctly across browsers

Respond to e-mail requests to make changes to sites

Respond to tasks and milestones on an online project management system

(We currently use Mindomo for this.)

Work with other programmers

Example Components and Functions We'll Be Developing Include:

Interactive forms with weekly delivery of custom Information based upon how the forms are filled out by customers.

Online greeting systems

Digital Content Delivery

Expectations:

You must be available M-F for 8 hours per day by Email, Phone, Skype or Google Talk.

You must have high-quality English conversational and written skills.

You must be responsive even if you're not available, we expect you to let us know when you'll be available and reachable and be there at that time.

You must test your work. We expect you to test out whatever you work on in multiple browsers and ideally, multiple platforms.

In our world, good news is best, bad news is ok but NO NEWS is never Ok. If you have a habit of not checking your e-mail, responding to requests or following up, this relationship won't last.

Willing to work hard and take responsibility for the web site.

Work well with a quality team.

You'll work with an experienced, entrepreneurial team who has been online for years.

You need to have a good eye and ability to "wrangle" content and populate a site and produce quality HTML that works in multiple browsers.

You will be initially contracted on a trial basis. If you have the "chops" and can work with the team, you'll have the ability to move into a full-time contract position and become our lead developer on exciting, high-profile projects. This position can also be come a profit share position if you have the "chops".

To qualify for this position, you MUST do the following:

Fill out this survey:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/embe...ZU1zSFeYaakHRA

AND

Provide a bio/resume along with a minimum of 3 web sites you've worked on that are representative of your skills.

Please DO NOT respond to this ad unless you do the above.
After taking the survey, please send an e-mail indicating you filled out the survey.
We'll follow up after reviewing your application!

Default Why is this posted here?

I do not think the post above has anything to do with the book 'Professional Joomla!'. Why is it clogging up space here? People are looking for guidance and support regarding a BOOK, not a JOB!

Also, why dont the people of Wrox reply to the questions mentioned here? Some posts are months old here without any sollution provided.

Kind regards,
Pioter
