Default Working with the Code

Hi Prasert,

After you download and extract the .ZIP file, you will have a series of folders, each named for a different chapter in the book. Each chapter folder contains a Visual Studio 2008 solution and a collection of subfolders. The subfolders each contain a different Visual Studio 2008 project, which are referred to from the solution file. Note that there is some duplication of project files, if they are referenced in multiple chapters.

Most of the examples are implemented as SharePoint features. This means you have to build the project and then install and activate the feature in your SharePoint environment. Some of the examples are implemented as Windows console applications. For these, you simply build the project and then run it.

There are more detailed instructions on using the core ECM2007 library in chapter 2 of the book.

This book does not contain any VB code. All of the examples are written in C#. Since you are just starting out in SharePoint development, I would recommend starting with one of the many great books from Wrox on building SharePoint 2007 features using Visual Studio. Once you have the basics down, then return to this book and build on your knowledge. Good luck!
