Default Chapter 11 - Weather News Web Part

I keyed in the sample for the Weather News Web Part, did a build and tested it in a Visual Studio.2008 Web Site. I'm getting the following error.

Error Rendering Control - WeatherWebPart1
An unhandled exception has occurred.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I thought perhaps I made a mistake when I created it so I downloaded it, did a build and tested and got the same error.

When I do a View In Browser I get a link to the correct RSS. I can click on the link and it opens with the weather for the correct RSS. I would have expected to get something like the example on page 184 instead of a link.

I used the following RSS

This seems to be a valid RSS but I'm not sure it is the one I should be using for this example.

Does anyone know how to solve this?
