I am following the instructions in Chapter 9 (p. 270) on page layouts and having an issue. When I open the page for editing I am not seeing the option to change page layouts, only text layouts.

What am I missing?

If you are seeing the Text Layouts option then most likely you are not in a publishing site (which is required for page layouts). You need to have SharePoint Server and either create a new site from one of the publishing templates or turn on the Site and Site Collection features for Publishing.

Having the same issue - Page Layouts link is not showing up, only the Text Layouts.

Have turned on Publishing features for the Site Collection and for several sub-sites; still no luck.

Have looked around the web but cannot locate any relevent articles.

Any ideas?
