Default Browser Version?

Great book. I followed along and was able to recreate. The site looks great in IE8 but not so good when I look at it in IE7, mainly the navigation and the content editor web part on top of the hero.jpg is moved to the right as well as the search. Is there code to make it look good in IE7 or is ther soemthing going on with my browser? Thank you.
