Not a brief explanation, an appendix, or even a post on this useless forum - [deleted by Jim Minatel]! I'm returning this book - giving it a very bad review on Amazon, specifically targeting all 5 of the [deleted by Jim Minatel] on the cover.

Think about it, if they can't even clearly explain how to install the demo app that is used to illustrate the various concepts introduced in the book (let alone the 1st chapter), how much confidence can the reader have in the 5 [deleted by Jim Minatel] to effectively convey concepts of the subject matter? - again, a group of [deleted by Jim Minatel].

Programmer to Programmer? - I doubt that - Programmer at least run a smoke test before delivering. Instead, these guys chose [deleted by Jim Minatel].

DP: Sorry to see you are so disappointed with this and I respect your opinion. However, we absolutely won't tolerate personal attacks or abusive language on the forums here. As such, I've edited your post, leaving as much of the book critique as possible.
FYI, if you want your Amazon review to "stick" and by all rights if you have legit gripes you should, you shouldn't use the sort of abusive language there that you used here. That will get it flagged and removed from Amazon. You are within your rights to give it a poor review, but Amazon frowns on abusive language as well.

I will do my best to get the authors to repsond to this and supply some additional installation direction for Buzzwatch.

While I do not encourage having to resort to using muddier tactics, I must say that it is, nonetheless, appropriate in this case.

The fact that they [u]completely and repeatedly</u> neglect their customers (same set of questions is repeatedly posted) who continuously express frustration over obvious deficiencies - one that is an essential component to products of this nature, (namely the 'hands-on' example) - both the work produced and the conduct of these 'gentlemen' is regarded as criminal.

I downloaded the buzzwatch application, decompressed the the v1 folder that contains all files but now where to put them?
In the book they said, if buzzwatch is installed on your workstation and you open the location http://localhost/buzzwatch in your favorite browser....
I need help at that level now
I have installed xampp package with apache and mySQL (can be used as local host)
question: where to put these files (buzzwatch) to be able to consider the application is installed in the work station?
