A Shame and a Sham.

This is the worst tech. book I've ever read.

If you like the 'hands-on' approach typically used in 99.999999999% of all tech books of this nature, then this is the worst possible book you could read on this subject. My words are not a hateful/malicious rant.

Let me qualify my statements - take a look at the book's forum p2p{DOT}wrox{DOT}com{FOWARD_SLASH}forum{DOT}asp?FO RUM_ID=287 or p2p{DOT}wrox{DOT}com{FOWARD_SLASH}forum{DOT}asp?TO PIC_ID=64880 and p2p{DOT}wrox{DOT}com{FOWARD_SLASH}forum{DOT}asp?TO PIC_ID=53376

In the past 2 years, I've easily read 200+ tech books on all topics ranging from language refs, particular technology, development process, s/w engineering, theoretical, obj. oriented methodologies, tech. paradigms - literally every type - this is, hands-down, the worst one I've ever encountered.

To top it all off, these con-artists have the nerve to completely disregard the cries for help/clarification on the book's forum.

Such a shame b/c I have read (practically) the whole book and there is a lot of good insight - though it is meaningless if you cannot follow along with the example. (like every other tech book).

In the future, I will definitely avoid any text books written by any of the 5 authors : Vlist, Ayers, Bruchez, Fawcett, Vernet. Do the development community a favor and spread the word. If you aren't as disgusted with these professional exploiters as I, myself am - convey the sentiment.
