Default Disabling popups

Is there a way to disable pop-ups from other apps (such as "AVG needs updating", "It is 30 days since Zonealarm was updated", "Network cable is not attached" etc etc etc) for the duration of my app?

Happy new year

Phil

You could write a program to look for top-level windows and kill any that appear after your program starts, but I'm not sure how you would know that they were the annoying ones and not legitimate.

For example, this program looks for Internet Explorer windows every 10 seconds and stops them:

It's not perfect but may give you a start.
