Default Crystal Reports 8 /Windows Server 2003/ ActiveX

I have Crystal Reports 8 Web Component Server installed on a machine running Windows Server 2003. I have several reports that run using ASP, however, I am having problems trying to get them to work on this server. I have the same reports running on a machine that uses Windows XP pro.

The problem that I am having is that when I bring up the reports using the ActiveX viewer, all I get is a white screen with the outline of the Active X control. I know this probably has to do something with permissions. I have looked on the BusinessObjects website, but so far have been unable to find a solution. The report only fails using ActiveX, so I know its not database connectivity at the very least.

Can anyone help?

I'm having a similar problem after migrating from Win 2000 to Win 2003 server with exisitng Crystal Reports 8 which were running fine. The CR Viewer ActiveX control displays fine, but there is no report, just a grey box.

Did anyone find a resolution to this?

Thanks,
June

Hi,
I recently installed Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) on Windows Server 2003 SP1 and the crystal report activex viewer 8.0 stopped working. Grey screen comes up in the report section. I can still see the crystal toolbar.I have tested the reports on the webserver and on the client machines with the same result

The reports work fine if I uninstall WSUS

Does anyone has come across this issue? I have tried re-registering all the crystal dlls but still the same.

Any suggestions will be appreciated

Thanks
Rishi

Hi, I am also facing the same problem. Could you find any solution for this?
I am using Crystal Reports 10 Developer Edition. I m very new to crystal reports.

My problem is that Screen remains blank and not prompting for ActiveX Viewer Download.
I am using following code for CrystalActiveXReportViewer with C#:

Application app2 = new CRAXDRT.ApplicationClass();
Report rap = new CRAXDRT.ReportClass();
CrystalActiveXReportViewer viewReport = new
CrystalActiveXReportViewerClass();
rap =
app2.OpenReport("C:\\TestReport.rpt",CRAXDRT.CROpe nReportMethod.crOpenRepo
rtByDefault);
rap.Database.Tables.SetDataSource(objDS.Tables[0],null);
viewReport.DisplayBorder = true;
viewReport.ReportSource = rap;
viewReport.Zoom (100);
viewReport.ViewReport();
viewReport.Refresh();

Please post if you have any solution to this.
Thanks in advance.

Is it a Internet Browser permission issue under Windows 2003 Server?
For IE, you might want to check to see if it allows Crystal ActiveX Viewer to run under Tools/Internet Options../Security/Internet/Custom Level/Run ActiveX Control, plug-ins.

The other issue is to confirm if Web Component Server and Page Server of Crystal 8 are being supported under Windows 2003 Server at all.

I have the Crystal WCS version 8.0 running on Windows Server 2003 with IIS 6.0

Everything seems to be working fine with the exception of the drill down feature. This is working on the sample reports delivered with WCS but not on any of our developed reports. The feature works fine within the Crystal Designer on the machine, but when accessing reports via any of the web viewers there is no magnifying-glass and no response to a double click.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I hate to open up an old forum but have a customer that is having issues actually installing CR 8 on Server 2003. He has uninstalled and reinstalled 2x.

Not all of the DB Drivers are being installed. Has anybody heard of this happening before? I initially thought it could be due to permission settings but how could it install some and not all?

Any direction that somebody can provide will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Thanks in Advance -
Jamie

I have just moved our system from NT 4.0 to Server 2003 and Crystal Reports 8.0 is not functioning properly. The Seagate Page Server will not start - it gives the error "1068 - the dependency service or group failed to start". Has anyone encountered this?
