Default Wrox and Wrox.com FAQs (updated March 2, 2004)

I'm ready to post a question here asking where to find some Wrox book code I can't find. What should I do first?
Stop and please read the next 2 answers before posting this question.

Did Wiley acquire all of Wrox?
No. Wiley acquired the Wrox Press name/branding/trademarks, the underlying capabilities for wrox.com, and many of its bestselling titles. For clarification, Wiley did not acquire the branding for Glaushaus, Friends of Ed, or Cornerstone.

What happened to the code downloads for the rest of the Wrox books?
Wiley only owns the rights to the code that goes with the works we purchased and new works we will publish. (See the Wrox booklist at: www.wrox.com/misc-pages/booklist.shtml .) Please contact Apress (www.apress.com/about/contact.html) for information about obtaining code downloads and support for any other former Wrox books.

Where can I see a list of Wrox books available though Wiley?
Click the Book List link at the top of any Wrox.com page.

I need to get the code for my Wrox book.  Where can I download it?
The source code for all Wrox titles available through Wiley is available via the Download Code link at the top of all Wrox.com pages.

I have a question about the code or example in my Wrox book.  Where can I go for help?
If it is a book we purchased (see the Book List link at the top of any Wrox.com page) please send an email to techsupwrox@wrox.com. If it is a book we didn’t purchase, you can try contacting Apress (www.apress.com/about/contact.html) or perhaps another reader or an author can answer your question if you post it in the All Other Wrox Books Forum at the new Wrox p2p.wrox.com discussion forums.

How do I get support for a Wrox book that Wiley did not purchase?
If you have a technical question or problem with a book that isn't on the list at http://www.wrox.com/misc-pages/booklist.shtml , it is not our book and we are unable to provide technical assistance for that book. You can try contacting Apress (www.apress.com/about/contact.html) or you can ask questions of the Wrox user community in the All Other Wrox Books forum at p2p.wrox.com to see if some other reader or even the author can help with your question but we can't promise any answers or promise author participation.

Where can I ask a question about a previous edition of a book that is on the Wrox book list at http://www.wrox.com/misc-pages/booklist.shtml ?
We did also purchase the rights to previous editions of books on our list. Your best source for answers on the previous edition is probably the current edition's book forum at p2p.wrox.com in the Book category.

If it isn't a book Wiley purchased, isn't a previous edition of a book Wiley purchased, and no one can answer my question in a p2p forum, who else might have an answer?
The remaining books were purchased by APress. Please check out their web site at www.apress.com for contact information and support policies regarding their books.

My Wrox book has exercises and states the answers to them are available online. Where are they?
We have recovered the answers from the corrupted database for 3 of the books that we purchased and those answers are now available. The answers for these 3 books are available from their book pages at:
http://www.wrox.com/misc-pages/booklist.shtml
Beginning ASP.NET 1.0 with C#
Beginning ASP.NET 1.0 with VB.NET
Beginning VB.NET, 2nd edition

What happened to the online versions of some of the Wrox books?
We did purchase the web site address www.wroxbase.com that was formerly home to these online versions of some books. However, in order to protect the intellectual property rights of our authors, we have chosen not to continue that business of providing those books online. For the book Professional ASP.NET 1.0, we are looking for an interim solution to be able to continue to provide that electronic version to purchasers of the hardcopy book who request it.

What happened to ASPToday.com and CsharpToday.com?
ASPToday.com was purchased by APress.
We purchased the URL for CSharpToday.com. However, at this time we do not have any plans to reopen that site. Although we bought the URL, we did not acquire the supporting content or subscriber list. Further, we received no subscription payments for CSharpToday. Those were received by the former owners of WROX.

I would like to write for Wrox.  Where do I start?
Wrox has always been Programmer to Programmer, and always will be. We welcome your book ideas.  Please see Becoming a Wrox Author at:
