I would like to have an alert message show when the intro page loads. Is it possible to have a hyperlink in the message?

Never seen a hyperlink in an alert message; can you use another web window through window.open() if you need a hyperlink?

As Brian said, you could use a popup to do this, or you could use a div that dynamically appears onLoad.
