Do you mean the "favorite" icon that is displayed next to the address in most browsers? This is the favicon.ico file.

Hi,
  1st generate icon for your website then add <link> tag inside web page <head> tag
 eg

<html>
  <head>
 <link runat="server" rel="icon" href="~/iconPath" type="image/ico" />

  </head>
</html>

You can add this on your master page

You need not do anything. Just name your icon as "Favicon.ico" and keep it in your root folder. It will automatically come in the browser URL bar.
