Check Existance of file at Client Side
 
hi guys , is there any way to check existance of file at client side?
will filesystem object help me in this matter?

Hi there,

Yes, you could use the FileSystemObject in client-side VBScript or JScript.

However, because of the browser's security settings, this is usually not allowed. If you are designing this for an Intranet, you could add your site to each client browser's Trusted Sites zone. This allows you to read and write to files.....

but wad if the file is in another server(K:\) but this server is on the same LAN?

that means this LAN provides two server. and the file is in the K:\.
the other server is the network folder that runs the asp application.

i'm a beginner, hoping to learn more.. please help... thanks a lot
