gem update --system errs

Hi,

my windows pc is connected to the internet!
when i run the gem update --system i get again a time out error:

C:\Ruby\projects\blog>gem update --system
Updating RubyGems
ERROR: http://gems.rubyforge.org/ does not appear to be a repository
ERROR: While executing gem ... (Gem::RemoteFetcher::FetchError)
Errno::ETIMEDOUT: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. - connect(2) (http://gems.rubyforge.org/yaml)

this is quite frustrating, yet i am perfectly able to brow the http://gems.rubyforge.org/ site...

any idea?
thx

update --system errs

Hi,

I'm just starting out on RoR and am a big newb w/no windows experience in dealing with this kind of problem; but, in Linux systems when you try to do a update/download and get this kind of error it means that the web-site target is not in the list of repositories that the operating system has stored internally.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to add a repository address to the list in windows. Hope someone does. Maybe this can help someone who knows this one answer you?

Good luck,
BernieB
