Hi

I think you need Windows Server 2008.

Please have a look at requirements for SharePoint (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l....aspx#section4)

Cheers

Straight answer is: No.

You need Professional/Ultimate/Enterprise editions of Windows 7 (64-bit) to install SharePoint 2010. Also, please note that this kind of setup is only for Development purpose and it cannot be used for Production use.

Yes, kamleshrao's option for that is right.

You need Professional/Ultimate/Enterprise editions of Windows 7 (64-bit) to install SharePoint 2010.

you can do this if you get Oracle's Virtual box. this will allow you to create a virtual environment into which you can create a server using Windows 2008. you can then install Sharepoint 2010 on this new virtual server.
