I'm having problems with ch 16 authentication examples. After setting up the web-app and accessing the index.jsp I always get this responce "Authentication Mechanism null". It seams as if the web-app isn't looking at the web.xml file. Any thoughts?

sometimes the authentication section of the servers configuration section is commented out. i can't remember the name of the file off the top of my head. it's tomcat-config.xml or something similar.
