Imported User profiles for distribution list.
Completed full scrawl of SSP
Even after completing the full crawl the distribution list is not recongnised by people picker of the site collection.(same SSP)

Any help in this is appreciated.

Then you should know that the people picker does not work with AD distribution lists, it works only with AD security groups.
