Default DTS source side won't save definition

I have been creating downloads from Sybase to SQL Server using DTS. They have worked fine except one. I can create a straignt table to table job but when I add a where clause the definition of the source won't save. I made an empty duplicate of the tables on my local server with no problems. The source table has 48 million records. Could this have nay bearing on the problem?

Sometimes the DTS designer parses queries little funny, so I occassionally have to use Disconnected Edit mode (akin to using regedit instead of control panel) to directly modify the properties of a task in the package. I suggest you use disconnected Edit mode to modify the SourceSQL Statement. Right click on white space in the package and select Disconnected Edit. Drill down in the tasks until you find the correct DataPump task. Click on the task. In the right hand pane scroll down until you find the SourceSQL Statement. Click on it and then click Edit. Paste in your SQL Statement. Then click OK, then close and then run the package to test it.

If that does not do it, it could be a setting on the driver to the Sybase database.

Good luck,
