Default SQL Server 2005 Express Edition: Error message

A beginner in SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. Reading "SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Starter Kit". I have placed a Grid View component on a web page, clicked on the Smart Tag, and under Grid View Tasks have chosen <New Data Source> in the Choose Data Source field. In the Data Source Configuration Wizard I have selected Database. The book does not mention creating an ID in the Specify An ID for the Data Source. Upon clicking OK, I get the following error message, "Cannot get Web Application Service". The desired database is in the App_Data directory of the Solution Explorer and is in the Data Connections directory of the Database Explorer. Any suggestions?

Not to pass the buck, but post this question to the forum for the that book. There is a specific forum for each book Wrox puts out. They can help you there...
