Default SourceSafe Error

Can any one help please.
SourceSafe is behaving in away I could not figure out. SS been ok for long time till I moved files around to a new file server with multi projects (however, files are not shared). Every time that a developer works on a file and checks it in, other developrs can't get latest version of it as SS throws this erro: File"\\servername\\filename\data\m\mudaaaaa.b" not found.
What does this message mean? how can I get to the bottom of it given that no now files been added or changes in terms of names.

Regards
Fuad

"\\servername\\filename\data\m\mudaaaaa.b" sound like one of the files that make up a sourcesafe archive. Its sound like in some way that the archive is corrupt. Could it have been when you've moved things something was missed.

There is a advised maximum size for an archive I think its around 4 MB. There is also a job you should run against Sourcesafe on a regular basis to prevent corruption. This is called Analyze.

Try looking at this page as well:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...ml/vssbest.asp

It think it still true for later version of SourceSafe.
