Default wrox.Books24x7 question

Hi,
I bought the Professional Series of books for the .NET framework 2.0 (all c#) and i love them, there great.

My question is this, at the book of the pro asp.net2 book there is a page saying i can get access to all these books on wrox.books24x7.com. I went to that site and i can't find these now books.

I was considering getting a subscription to this site just to be able to (from what i understand) have a "search" functien on the pdf of the book.

I guess my question is, is this the case - ie will i be able to search the pdf, and secondly when will they become available on 24x7?

Thanks,

Good questions. I don't know the answers but let me ask around and see if I can find someone who does. Give me a couple of days. Thanks!

Sorry about the delay, we all have a lot of time off this time of year.

Books24x7 takes several months from the time we publish a book until the time it is available in their subscription service. Right now, the most recent books I found there were the ones we published in August. So, the VS2005, ASP.NET 2.0 era books should probably be available there within another 1-2 months since most of them published in late Oct and early Nov.

They do have a search function and it works pretty well I think. I just did a few searches on some language keywords and they came up well. But it's not PDF, they have their own content engine that displays this in your browser.

Books 24x7 has recently added several new VS 2005 titles to their Wrox library. It looks like they now have most of the Wrox Visual Studio 2005 titles from the first few months.
Some of the new ones I found include:
ASP.NET 2.0:
Professional ASP.NET 2.0 by Bill Evjen, Scott Hanselman, et al
Professional Web Parts and Custom Controls with ASP.NET 2.0 by Peter Vogel
Wrox's ASP.NET 2.0 Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition Starter Kit by David Sussman and Alex Homer

C# 2005:
Beginning Visual C# 2005 by Karli Watson et al.
Professional C# 2005 by Christian Nagel et al.

VB 2005:
Professional VB 2005 by Bill Evjen et al.
Beginning Visual Basic 2005 by Thearon Willis and Bryan Newsome
Expert One-on-One Visual Basic 2005 Database Programming by Roger Jennings
Beginning Visual Basic 2005 Databases by Thearon Willis
Wrox's Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition Starter Kit by Andrew Parsons

SQL Server 2005 and Other .NET 2.0:
Professional ADO.NET 2: Programming with SQL Server 2005, Oracle, and MySQL by Wallace B. McClure et al.
Beginning Transact-SQL with SQL Server 2000 and 2005 by Paul Turley and Dan Wood
Wrox's SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Starter Kit by Rajesh George and Lance Delano

That seems like a pretty good deal to me for $175 a year or $49.99 for 3 months. But of course I'm hardly impartial on that. :)

2 more new Wrox books added in the Books 24x7 Wrox Library:
Professional .NET 2.0 Generics by Tod Golding.
And, not related to the .NET 2.0 theme of the original question but an important book anyway:
Professional Ajax by Nicholas C. Zakas, Jeremy McPeak and Joe Fawcett

That was fast with Professional Ajax. That just published at the end of January. Nice work on their part getting it added so quickly.
