Since no one else has ventured an answer, this fool will rush in. I'm not up on all the differences between 2000 and 2002/3. So I would try this shortcut:

--open a new 2000 db
--create the db (pp 317-320)
--create the forms (ie, all the controls etc pp 320-330)
--create the two class modules and the two general modules

Now to save time, cut and paste the VBA code for these modules from the code download (under ch. 12). If this works you'll know it's worth your while to go through and type up all the code yourself as a learning exercise.
