My first issue with presentation was getting things the way i wanted them without having to use absolute positioning (which by the way try to avoid as much as possible, makes html source hard to follow). I found out the best way to do this is with tables.
1) Create panel and size it to the size you want it to be in pixels.
2) Create 1 row, 2 column table sized to the length you want for the label and control together. Size the cells to be about equal but adds up to total table width. (would play with the width but leave length blank for resizing.)
3)Place label and control in cells in order you want them to appear next ot each other and then via the properties resize each cell to continue to equal total table width but different in sizes until spacing between the controls is as you like it.

I hope that made sense. That is the easiest way I found out how to do formatting. :)
