By the way even IMAR SPANJAARS the great autor of a great book, Asp.net Instant Results have started coding and posting few tutorials on his websibe based on C#.

His latest Tutorial is based on C# code.

I have observed that with C# as an base, you can be friends with Java, PHP and C++ in long run.

Vb.Net can keep you away from the above mentioned technologies. you never know, which languages can emerge as an leader later on.

Its better to be friends with few languages right now.
