thanks for the reply. what u said is exactly what i thought that it wouldn't matter as everything in the <?php ?> wouldnt be sent to browser but if i create my page and load it. The menu works fine, and it even works fine if i do <?php ?> and leave it empty between the brackets. as soon as i add php code though the menu stops working.

Yes the page is a php page. Is that the problem?

any help would be appreciated, i really want to use that menu in my website
