So I have to assume that the code you showed is dummy code, just to illustrate the problem???

Because clearly if you simply changed your stateChanged code to do

function stateChanged(){
    if (xmlHttp.readyState==4){
        document.getElementById("A").innerHTML = xmlHttp.responseText;
        document.getElementById("B") tElementById("A").innerHTML;

Then hopefully and presumably there's no possible way that B isn't changed to match A as soon as A changes.

So, now, I didn't actually try your code. And now I'm going to have to, aren't I?? <grin style="sickly"/>
