Default Extracting values from list.

Hi,

Have a requiremt to extract individual employee ids from a list sent via front-end.

e.g.: a variable in procedure in oracle will have value as '1','2,'3','4','5','6' etc.. (it could go upto thousands..),

[p_var := " '1','2,'3','4','5','6' "; ]

Requt: We have a table where need to check the status of ids (1,2,3..) and if it is active then have to set inactive else show the user that these ids are already inactive.

The id field is in varchar2 data type.

The quetion is "How can I break the sting ('1','2,'3','4','5','6' ) and check-update in table and show the output for individual ids (as this should be done at database level)?"
