Default Inserting a link to a MP3 file

I solved the linking problem, but there's a security problem that I've been advised about: Is there a way to protect the content that I upload to WordPress? I'll be adding upwards of 25 original MP3s to my music blog/website. I was advised by another musician to password protect the file where the MP3's are stored so that people can't download the entire folder. I'm assuming that the WP-Content folder is where the MP3s must be stored when I upload them through Media. I tried to password protect my WP-Content folder through my CPanel, but that won't work. Is there a way to do this that's not readily apparent?

Thanks,
Reynold Akison
