Default 'grey out' or 'disable' an image

Is there a way to 'grey out' or 'disable' an image?

For example i have this code:
Code:
<tr>
<td>
Status:
</td>
<td>
<img src="picco.jpeg">
</td>
</tr>
How can i 'grey-out' the image picco.jpeg, or have it appear to be 'disabled' like the text???
