Default Changing data connection slows down the application

Hi, I have a weird situation and I spent couple of days figuring out where the problem is and no luck! Here it is: I created a database application using the entity framework data model (connected to a sql server database on my desktop) and it works perfectly. Now, I am planning to deploy it so other people can use it too, so I changed the data model connection to a database on the server with different credentials. What happened after this change is that everything extremely slowed down. The query from the database itself is not much longer, but the operations on all the controls on my form are way longer (some of them are not even connected to the data model).

Could you please point me to the right direction?
