Sorry but I haven't heard of anything like that happening. Right now you're trying to run the application from your computer but with the remote database, right?

Does it take longer the first time it loads and the performance improves during subsequent operations? That might indicate you're losing a little extra time setting up the connection but after that things are better.

If that's not the case, I would normally suspect network latency. But if you're right that the queries return quickly and it's just the controls, I'm not sure what it could be.

You might need to dig into the automatically-generated EF code to see if it's doing something strange.
