Default FileUpload Memory Management Question

Hello everyone,
In .NET 1.1 I had to use an <input type="file" runat=server> tag to upload files to my server the caveat here was, of course, the framework dealt with memory allocation poorly in that if would load the entire file into the Worker Process while saving the file to disk but it would never release all of the memory from the worker process.

In 2.0 there is the FileUpload server control and have been investigating into whether the aforementioned problem had been recitified or if it still presists. I have looked through the MSDN and searched around google but all of the documents that I have read make no mention of this pitfall so, I assume, this means that issue was resolved.

Can someone either confirm or deny that there is still a problem??
