Default 2008 re: VB.NET databases book

I wm working my way through the "Beginning VB.NET Databases" book by Thearon Willis. On page 50 the book instructs me "From the Data Tab on the toolbox drag an ODBCDataAdapter control and drop it on to your form". I am running the latest version of Microsoft Visual Studio. Am I doing something wrong here? Is this book outdated? Not sure what I need to do at this point.:(

Thanks in advance for your help.
