Hi Rod,

If I understand your question correctly, I think this is caused by the way how you assign a Virtual Directory (VD). If you go to the IIS management console, you'll see the physical folders listed under the wwwroot folder. You can open the Properties of one of those folders and turn them into a VD. I think this is what you have done now.

Another way to create a VD is to right click your site in the IIS MMC and choose New | New VD. This allows you to assign a new VD name, and point to a completely different folder, like E:\Data\MySites\MyNewProject.
Then this location will be used as the VD, and can be reached with:
http://localhost/VirtualDirectoryName/
