This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

Hi,

Please can someone help with this.

I have an existing application which uses "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.3.51"

provider this application runs quite happily on Windows 95, 98 and NT4

machines.

I am now trying to run this application (using the same setup files) on

an NT4 Embedded machine, but when running I keep receiving the error

"Run-time error '3706' - ADO could not find the specified provider"

Has anyone any idea of what DLLs or settings to check for ?to do with

ADO?

Note: The database will open using DAO which I feel proves the ODBC and

the database side of things.

Thanks in advance

Darren

Make sure you load MDAC package onto target computer. Preferably MDAC 2.6.

Hi Darren,

Even if your database opens up with DAO , this does not prove that

database side is safe because you are using the OLEDB provider and

bypassing the ODBC settings or the Jet Engine settings (used by DAO)

Check your MDAC version shud be 2.6 prefreably. Also check up

documentation for ADO in MSDN.
