asp_components thread: Uploading multiple files

Message #1 by Hayes_Eoin@e... on Wed, 1 May 2002 13:58:10 -0400
I was wondering if there was a way to allow a user to browse and upload
multiple files simultaneously, to say a fileserver. I know this can be done
using multiple <input> tags of type="file", but can it be done so that the
user can browse and add several files to a textarea and then upload them at
once??

Thanks,
Eoin

I don't think its possible :(

You can try to create hidden <input type=file>
and then before submit form just fill values
into those fields.

I don't know if it will work its just an idea
but from what I played with that I could find other way to upload but <input
type=file>

Oleg.

You can only do this using multiple INPUT FILE tags. The FILE tage can
not be manipulated via scripting for security reasons. If you want the
user to have an option on how many files they want to upload, have them
submit it in a FORM then response.write out the appropriate number of
INPUT tags.
