asp_databases thread: Re: Some questions about CREATE TABLE and Access

There is a limit to how much data you can store in a row. Check with the
documentation for your version of Access.

Text is an Access Memo type field
Char is an Access Text
Autoincrement is an autonumber field (Int)

Cheers

Subject: [asp_databases] Some questions about CREATE TABLE and Access

: I use CREATE TABLE in ASP to create a table in an Access database. When
: I used text for the different fieldtypes, there was no problem. But
: because this is not necessary I want to change the fieldtypes to char.
: As long as I do not change more as 7 fields from text to char, there is
: no problem. But at the moment I change the eight field to char I get:
: Record to large.
:
: What is happening here and what can I do about it?
:
: My second question is which types can be used? And what are the
: differences between them? Untill now I found: autoincrement, text, date,
: char and bit.

My second question is which types can be used? And what are the
