Request.Form("mySelect")

will return the current selected value when you submit that form -
regardless of who - the system or the client - selected it.

Hi there,

I have a DB [ADODB] filled list box. Prior to it being ?Submitted? I require
to now the text within the list box either that that has already been
selected by the client or by default i.e. the existing selection may well
suit the client and they don't need to change it. This all in order to pass
it to another SQL statement where it would be used in the WHERE statement
prior to that SQL filling a further list box. The asp/sql to the 2nd list
box are not a problem. It's just grabbing the info from the list box that
I'm grappling with. I must have half a dozen books on asp, xml, html etc.,
but all are reluctant to give up the necessary knowledge all as if it were
not available. Is it?

I know it?s easy by utilising another DocPage & Request.Form but I'm trying
to maintain presentation and minimum server down time in using the same
page. Can it be done?

Kind regards,
H.Chris Spreckley
