asp_discuss thread: asp documentation error?

Message #1 by "gary shaw" <oncearancher@y...> on Thu, 13 Mar 2003 21:23:59
after installing .net to my IIS server I tried to go to the directory
quickstart/aspplus/samples/classbrowser/vb/classbrowser.aspx

I get a messge back that there are undefined variables. Now this is a
microsoft help system, so has anyone else seen this problem. Does anyone
know of a place at Microsoft I could go to enquire about why they have
such an obvious flaw?

thanks

Is this URL supposed to be accessed directly like this. Don't
forget that you're dealing with ASP in which use of global.ini can't be
neglected. Yes, I suspect that those undefined variables are declared in
global.ini. Or another possibility is that the URL has to be called by
another page because some data must be sent first.

In IIS4 and 5, it's sufficient to go to http://localhost/ to open
the doc amongst other things.

	HTH

I just figured everyone would understand that I was at http://localhost/ so I didn't need to type that.
The browser finds the file and then gives me an error page saying that on line 91 there are undefined variables, which as we all
know is not allowed in asp.
