aspdotnet_website_programming thread: Logging of errors to text file rather than event log

Message #1 by "Development Team" <development@c...> on Tue, 25 Jun 2002 19:13:43
 Hello,

In chapter two, page 41 in the section refering to building the
AppException Class it mentions the alternative of logging error to text
file (when using a web hosting company). Has anyone come up with the code
for a revised method to accomplish this? Thanks for any help or pointers
in the right direction!

If you'd like to dig deeper into exception logging look for the
"exception handling application block" for .Net on the Microsoft site.
(There is a C# and a VB.NET version.) I think it has some "save to
file" code. NOTE: This implementation is more complex than that in the
book.

I'd also recommend you learn enough about .NET programming that saving a
file to disc becomes second nature. (Otherwise code changes could
consume days instead of minutes before you even get to running your
tests.)

Yes you are right. If anyone have more source code about this (logging
error to text
file) , please share and post here ;P

Thanks ;P
