Hi there you can use either IIS5 wich ships with W2K or you could install an

apache server. As to database aplications you can use nearly everything you

like but I would recommend mySql (www.mysql.com). Get yurself the php

installer from www.php.net and run the installation. Oh by the way a very

neat tool for mySql is phpMyAdmin wich you will find at

http://www.phpwizard.net/ . Hope that this info is a little help to you. If

you use Macromedia Dreamweaver Ultradev to develop your ASP pages take a

look at www.interakt.ro there you will find a extension called phakt that

allows you to code php pages with ultradev.

i am a professional asp developer and am intending to get up to speed with

PHP as well.

i am using win2k as my server and platform. i need to know the following :



1) whihc web server (to be installed on windows) i need to use for my php

website.

2) which database application should i use and where can i get that

(eg, access or sql server in case of ASP)
