...but you're asking for trouble if you install something that is untested on

a production server. Try it on a test server first, if you have one.

Dear Friend,

There is no problem at all.

However if you have configued your ISAPI filters correctly.

If these are not configured asp or what not even your web server will work

properly.

I will guide you on how to setup php on win2k.

Just follow these steps very carefully.

1)Install php on a directory convienient to you.

My suggestion is D:\php is fine.

2)If you have two files named php-ini.dist and

php-ini.opt.

Rename the name called php-ini.dist to php.ini.

Next open the file in Notepad and check for the extensions section in the

file.

find a extension named

;extensions_gd.dll

Remove the semi-colon from this section.

This is because later when using php we can generate images for our web-

apps.

Save the file now.

3)Next coming to the DLL part.

copy the php4ts.dll to winnt\system32 directory.

4)Nect open your dlls folder and copy all the dlls on to the

winnt\system32 folder.

5)Now coming to the Web Server bit.

Open IIS Services Manager.

Then right click on the Default-Website properties.

6)Then in the Home Directory choose configuration.

Under this choose the name of the filter u wish IIS to associate itself

with.

Enter for Application Name : PHP

and Application Executable Choose :

d:\php\sapi\php4isapi.dll

7)Next in the ISAPI filters add a new filter for IIS to recognize when

executing php files.

Choose Add new Filter.

For Filter name path choose

d:\php\sapi\php4isapi.dll

and for extension = .php

Now click OK and then Do the following.

At the Command Line.

give

c:\>net stop iisadmin

Choose Y.

Next again type this

c:\>net start w3svc

Now you are on your way to write your first php script

open notepad and type the foloowing.

<?

phpinfo();

?>

Save it as phpinfo.php in your inetpub/wwwroot folder.

(Note : Save it as All files )

Now open your browser

type

http://localhost/phpinfo.php

You should see the details about PHP .

I hope this will help u.

Take Care

Happy Coding
