beginning_php thread: PHP Extensions

Message #1 by "Dean Spencer" <dean.spencer@l...> on Sat, 28 Jul 2001 12:57:20 +0100

I am new to PHP, I am using PHP4 with WIndows98

I understand that in order to get certain functions such as ctype_digit

to work I need to obtain a .dll file, place it in the php root folder

and then remove the ';' from the required line under the extensions

section in php.ini - I hope I have got that correct

However, my difficulty is that the .dll files are not easy to locate as

I am unable to find any good links or repositories to any of all of the

required extensions

Can anyone help please

Thanks

I've been on the same mission for the last few days looking for

php_crypt.dll with no joy.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of it, please let me know.....

(the old download.swwwing.com download link is long dead :-(

On a slight tangent has anyone tried to make their own extension ???

I've got a bunch of functions written in c++ compiled as a dll that i wanted

to lob in the extensions folder and import with dl(), but it's not buying

it......

Anyone got the spec on a php extension or know of another way to include

home spun .dll's ????????

thanx

mat

I managed to find what I was looking for at http://sourceforge.net,

perhaps you could try there for the extension that you need
