beginning_php thread: My php pages won't execute!!

Message #1 by "Demi Aboderin" <portiaboderin@h...> on Thu, 5 Jul 2001 09:37:16
Hi!

I have re-installed php using the exact directions specified in

the 'Beginning php4' book, and I still come up with this same error:

"Warning: Failed opening 'c:\inetpub\wwwroot\phpinfo.php' for inclusion

(include_path='') in Unknown on line 0"

I take it that this error is being generated by php. So the installation

may not be the problem. Since I could run php scripts okay on the first

installation (for a short time).

Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be? I have visited

other forums and posted the question and no one seems to know what is

going on.

The script I have been trying to run is this simple test script.

<?php phpinfo(); ?>.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

You don't have any strange .htaccess files lying around, do you? That

tripped me up one time.

Look for "include_path" in the php.ini file. See what is wrinten there. If

you find something like " ./", should be no problems.

Sorry my English.

Dear Martin,

Do try the following.

1)First get a new copy of php4 by visiting php.net.

2)Once u have extracted it to a folder say d:\php is fine.

3)Then change the name of the php-ini.dist to php.ini.

4)Next copy all the dlls from the dll folder to c:\windows.

5)It will warn u if u want to verwrite the mvsvrt.dll file,

Say no to it.

6)Next copy the php.ini to c:\windows.

7)Next open the php.ini file in notepad.

Remove the semicolon @

php_gd.dll

8)

Next open notepad and type in he following.

<?

phpinfo();

?>

Save it as phpinfo.php (as All Files).

Copy it to your wwwroot folder and test it.

Iam sure it should work.

Reply if it works and if it does not work then also plz reply .

All the Best

You also need to add a few things into the registry.

/* Copy From Here Not This Line Though :) */

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\w3svc\parameters\Script Map]

".php"="d:\\php\\php4isapi.dll"

".php3"="d:\\php\\php4isapi.dll"

/* Stop Copying Here Again Not This Line :) */
